- pellets and water for Cindy and Kiwi (luckily Cindy does not poop in her water)
- clean Cindy's litterbox and fill with fresh litter and hay
- veggies for Cindy (parsley today)
- fresh newspaper for Kiwi's cage
- veggies for Kiwi (broccolini - yum!)
During the food preparation, Kiwi rode along on Shannon's shoulder. Kiwi decided that she liked the low neck of Shannon's "kiwi" shirt, and climbed down until just her head was poking out. Shannon decided that this was cute, and that even if it was 7am, she would wake up her sister Tracy for a look-see. However, Tracy was too slow (and stubbed her toe in the dark) and Kiwi decided that she preferred the higher view from Shannon's shoulder.
Shannon had to extricate the broccolini from its plastic bag, and Kiwi did not like this at all. It was not good.
Once the bag was put away, Kiwi was settled again and it was good.
Kiwi was happy to have some breakfast, but did not like it when Shannon went to shower. When Shannon came back all clean, Kiwi was very pleased and fluffed her feathers. However, then Kiwi became sad again when Shannon had to go to work, and proceeded to chirp at Jacob, who was grading finals in the next room. Poor Jacob. The door to Shannon's room was then closed, and Kiwi became quiet. It was good.
i apologize to jacob!!! and to showering shannon for kiwi making too much noise! and to shannon for kiwi pooping in her water ALL THE TIME!!! she doesn't do that at home so much ... very strange. but the bird sitter said she did it all the time too. and to tracy for stubbing her toe in the dark! but i'm sure kiwi will crawl back down shannon's shirt again ... especially if it's nice and loose ... she likes those best for climbing up and down into. i think it's cutest when just her little butt sticks out of your shirt. :)
